Blazers have always been one of my closet staples that I rely on to help pull together a cohesive look. Whether casual for the weekend or professional for the office, it’s a garment that you really can’t have enough variations of. In a solid color or an in-your-face pattern, like this gorgeous one below, it is truly the icing to any ensemble.
The dress code in my office is pretty lax, however because of my position, I aim at always dressing work appropriate but that doesn’t translate to mundane or dull. I love playing with different textures and colors and challenge myself into making it work for the office. I fell head over heels over this gorgeous wrap blazer/jacket from indie brand D’IYANU. The vibrancy and pattern add enough pizzazz so that I can go basic on the bottom. In this work look today, I paired it with my faux leather Ann Taylor Skirt and Tahari pumps. Not sure you can see, but it does come with an ultra long belt that you can be wrap around twice or more to really cinch in your waist-who doesn’t love that!
Picking this blazer jacket to style was pretty hard since D’iyanu has so many pieces that totally can work in my style aesthetic. I love introducing my audience to indie- brands especially those of quality product. Here’s a little background on this woman run brand.
D’IYANU (dee-ya-nu) is a ready-to-wear bold print clothing line offering quality, trendy African inspired fashion at affordable prices. With her love for fashion and passion for self expression through unique clothing, Nigerian born Addie Olutola launched the D’IYANU brand at the beginning of 2014. D’IYANU is a fun, bold, chic line centered on inspiring individuals to confidently dress bold and beautifully. All garments are currently made in Philadelphia with great attention to quality.
