Pulling off Casual Friday work looks in the summer can come with it’s challenges. Often tempted to wear flip flops in your attempt to be super comfy, always be cognizant that you are still at work and depending on your field, who’s to say you may not be called for a impromptu meeting or two. Therefore, you always want to be appropriately dressed. If your work environment allows denim, the easiest way to look casually comfortable and appropriately dressed is pairing your denim bottoms with a blouse or, in this look, ruffled button down top.

Ruffle details have been really popular this year and just from perusing the last few posts on this blog, you’d come to see that I am a HUGE fan. From ruffled skirts to ruffles dresses, naturally the next ruffled piece I’d gravitate towards would be a top.
Truth be told, button down tops should be a classic staple in everyone woman’s closet, so why not add some whimsical detailing like ruffles! Another great find from Target’s Who What Wear collection, this ruffled top is a statement but simultaneously, subtle enough to not take focus away from the rest of the outfit, but rather, add to the outfit. Classy and Understated, just the way I like it! Paired with high-waisted flare leg jeans and wedges, it’s easily one of my favorite casual Friday workwear looks this summer!
Today’s outfit is also part of my How to Wear Gucci Belt to Work Without looking Gawdy mini-series. With such a big investment on a belt, I made it my mission to not only add it to more casual weekend looks, but pair it with some work ensembles. In true dress down Friday fashion, I went with denim flares, another rarity but it just worked for this look.
While it’s a no brainer styling the double G Gucci belt casually with jeans, I really wanted to show I how I style it for the office without looking gawdy. So tell me, did I pull it off?
