Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I’m currently preparing for a quick trip to the Caribbean (I’ll announced where later this week). I spent the weekend ironing out our agenda (excursions, restaurants to dine at, family to visit). As I travel more and more, being on some kind of schedule allows me to check off sites I want to explore while simultaneously allowing me to relax. It really does make for a better trip if it’s fully planned out.
In my spring staples post, I talked about how ruffled and flute hem skirts are a great way to updating your typical pencil skirt for the office. Yes ladies, the pencil skirt has been reimagined in a range of colors, patters, and cuts. I prefer high-waisted skirts because they give off a slimmer silhouette since they hit the smallest area of your torso. The ruffled detail adds volume without being overwhelming. This spring and summer, you will find yourself reaching for these bottoms over and over again, trust me.

It’s spring, but here in NY, mother nature is still holding strong to winter season. One seemingly warm day (high 40s) I decided to show some leg and wear my newest addition to my sandal collection, my red strappy heels. Needless to say, they were not as secure as I would hope for. My feet were sliding in and out of them, but aesthetically, they’re so cute so I’m hoping to make it work. I paired it with my Gucci-inspired bow tie and threw over a Levi’s denim jacket to play down the look. Some may say, I’m channeling my Catholic school days, uniform and all.
