Once upon a time, when it came to makeup and choosing products, I would aimlessly go for what I liked not understanding that it may not be the best shade for me. Nowadays, I have the amazing option to youtube a lipstick shade, concealer, foundation and even shadows before opting to buy. Through youtube, I’m able to search and find a makeup tutorial or review from a youtuber that looks like me, whether in skin shade or similar facial attributes (eye color, etc). That way, I have a pretty clear idea of how that item would look on me-genious! Because of this, many makeup enthusiasts whether professional or self-taught, have become gurus and the go-to for all things makeup related. When Ulta reached out to me, to try a product off their beauty superfan giftguide, I knew the product I had to try out was the Too Faced Stardust by Vegas Nay eyeshadow palette.
This palette has been all the buzz on social media and I already had it on my Christmas list. From the pigmented shadows, eye shadow base, mascara, and step-by-step tutorial cards that come with it made it a great buy. As much as I love makeup and trying out new looks, truth be told, my shadow looks have more realistic everyday feel to them. However that doesn’t mean it can’t have a slight glam effect to it. Below, I share an everyday neutral look using just two matte shadows from the the Vegas Nay palette.
Step 1: Apply eye primer
Step 2: Add eyeshadow base
Step 3: Add crease color and blend
Step 4: Add eyeliner (I always use liquid eyeliner in the blackest black)
Step 5: Add mascara (used Too faced Better than Sex) and lashes (optional)
That’s all for the eyes. To bring some everyday glam, I go for a matte red lip. It’s so funny how the smallest things can make the biggest impact. This palette does just that.
This palette works great for glam holiday looks too. Make sure to check out my holiday glam looks releasing this week where all looks features the Too Faced Vegas Nay Star Dust Palette.
Here’s a list of the items I used on my face for this look. Click on each item to be directed to it’s product page
In all, I love how pigmented the shadow are. I definitely appreciate that there’s a mix of matte and shimmer shadows for different looks and occasions. Initially, I thought the sample size items that come with the palette wouldn’t last very long. However, after using this palette for the past few weeks, the mascara and primer will last for at least another 2 months! This makes a great stocking stuffer too.
