The temps are dropping, days are getting darker earlier-all the signs of winter’s fast ascension upon us. Although we’re losing out on bare leg season, there’s something to be said about being all snuggled up in layers. I’m the type of person who, as soon as winter hits, I’m all about cozy nights in all year round. I guess there’s just something that excites me about bundling up and hunkering down. So, along with lighting my pumpkin spice candles and adding more throws to my couch, I’m equally inspired to add some new cozy pajamas to my wardrobe. After all, there’s no better season for lounging around in your pajamas than now.
This weather makes it harder for me to get out of bed, particularly on the weekends when I rather just lounge around the house. The best part about doing that is, looking cute while doing absolutely nothing. I decided it was time to forgo the old college t-shirt and shorts and actually invest in some adult pajamas. So, it was time to go shopping! In collaboration with Kohls department store, I’m sharing my experience shopping for cozy and cute pajamas that fit my style.
While out shopping for pajamas, I knew that the selections I ended up making had to meet the following four requirements
- It had to be cozy and non-restricting while I sleep
- It had to be modest enough for me to walk outside and throw out the trash in
- I had to look cute in it
- It had to wash well
I’m anemic so I’m always cold so it was important for me to pick pieces that would certainly keep me warm but not make me super sweaty as my home can get quite hot at times. Needless to say, I was not prepared for the vast options Kohls provided. I literally walked into the sleepwear department and was met with such variety of options from Croft & Barrow, which has the more traditional nightgown look, Sonoma, which provides more on-the-go lounge items and Simply Vera Vera Wang, which aims at more stylish and modern options.
After perusing the racks, I gravitated more towards the Simply Vera Vera Wang collection. Her pieces checked off my requirements all while being really chic. I also loved that the line carried such a wide variety of sizes from straight to plus size. I selected the modern take of the traditional button down and trouser matching set pj but in a really fun mix stripe print in the coziest material and it just happens to come with matching fuzzy socks. The pink and gray colors work perfectly together.
While I’m usually an online shopper, I opted to visit the store since I had never been to a Kohl’s before. Although my shopping experience was pleasant and I was able to try on some of the pj’s, I think I’ll stick to shopping online. I visited the store during the middle of the week after 7pm and the checkout line was ridiculously long. After standing on line for 31 minutes, I was finally able to check out. The only thing that made my irate manor disappear was the opportunity to save 20% off my order with the Kohls app, so I highly recommend that. That’s one of the best things about Kohl’s-you can almost always find a promo code that’ll provide further discount off your purchases.
So are you in? While cute pajama’s may not necessarily qualify as one of life’s necessities, it sure as heck a way of bringing a little dose of (much deserved) indulgence to our lives. You look cute, you’re cozy and it didn’t cost you a ton. Done & done! You can check out all of their offerings online 24/7 or you can go and test out the baby soft fabrics in person at your nearest Kohls.
