Special thank you to Target for sponsoring this post.
“How do you do Athleisure?” Never heard of it? Don’t worry, neither did I until I did a little research. The fashion-related term “Athleisure” is just a made-up word serving as a trendy justification for wearing workout clothes outside the gym. Without shame, I can say that I’m guilty of this former faux-pas particularly during weekends to my daughter’s sports practices. Who can blame me- leggings, yoga pants, comfy tops and hoodies-served as the ultimate soccer mom ensemble. It wasn’t until Target reached out to me to review their athleisure pieces that I realized that these pieces can also be styled for other occasions that doesn’t necessarily call for sneakers.
Long gone are the days of lounging in your boyfriend sweats. Now, Target has sweatshirt dresses in that loose comfy fit. I paired mine below with over-the-knee boots for an edgy monochromatic date night look.
Mixed Media shirts have always been a fave. This particular top is soft and loose-fitting and perfect paired with leggings and flats. To jazz it up, I added my Target OTK boots in the same family color for that stylishly low-maintenance look great for drinks with the girls to Casual Fridays at work.
As I mentioned above, activewear, more commonly worn to the gym, has become a weekend staple for me. While I’m more open to retail cardio than the actual act of working out, I just love the pieces available at Target. These pixel-pattern bottoms and soft hooded top create a really pulled-together look for any activity. Needless to say, Sunday afternoons just got a whole lot more chic.
As you can see, athleisure can be easily achieved. This really cute quick video shares some pieces dedicated for that laid-back lifestyle that athleisure-wear dominates.
