The holidays are amongst us and you know what that means! We are in the beginning of the most stressful yet rewarding time of the year. The stress of finding the perfect holiday looks (first world problems) to perfect Christmas gifts. With the added pressure of making wise and budget conscious decisions, shouldn’t come the dreaded question of, what am I gonna wear? I’ve partnered with affordable brand, maurices sharing with you 3 maximum impact with close to minimal effort outfit ideas for your various festivities.
HOLIDAY OFFICE PARTY
One of the most asked questions I receive from readers is, how to dress appropriate for the office party? In my opinion, there are three kinds of office Holiday Parties: the mid-day shin-dig which usually calls for business casual no frills ensembles; the after 5pm party which calls for a little bit more dressy up but nothing too outlandish as chances are, you had to wear this all outfit all day anyhow, and lastly; the annual most anticipated holiday party which usually is at a nice venue and calls for sequin, velvet, lace, oh my!
This look below falls perfect into the first two holiday parties. It’s a knit dress just as cozy as it is cute. I love the bit of cold shoulder it gives off and the dainty lace detailing. I paired it with some suede knee boots but it would look equally cute with some sexy stilettos.
Tip: During the day, wear a cardigan over it for a more conservative take.
CASUAL HOLIDAY PARTY
So your friend is having a little get-together. Whether it’s BYOB or Pot Luck style, you want to look cute and be comfortable. You’re ultimately there to eat, drink and be merry but you want to at least look like you put some effort into it. In this case, I recommend two things: oversize and stretchy band. This look below from maurices not only fit the bill, but stylishly at that. I love the faux suede pull-up slacks and the grey sweater with the lace-up detailing in the back. So cute and plush. To put an evening spin on it, I simply paired it with suede pumps- done and done!
Okay, so shopping isn’t really a holiday event per-se but I do think that it warrants comfortable and cute looks. That was the idea when I spotted and picked up this super cozy joggers and hoodie coordinating set from maurices. It’s not your typical loungewear due to the strip of shimmer running along the sides of both pieces. The best part about it is, I can wear it with pumps as I did below but it looks just as stylish with sneakers or boots. How many outfits do you know can instantly change according to the event by simply changing out your shoes?
I had such a blast styling these maurices pieces. I love the versatility of the faux suede pants and lounge-wear and the subtle sexy LBD (little black dress). Whichever kind of party or event you’re attending this season, you’re sure to be a hit in your maurices pieces. Before I go, it is the season of giving so I’d like to gift one of you a $100 maurices e-gift card so you can pick up some pieces perfect for your upcoming events. Details over on my instagram here.
